1969 Corsair Formula Ford

Built in 1969 by Graham Gilbert and Bob Reynolds (Wren race car fame). This is one of two cars they built together, the other being an F3 car. Chassis was was a copy of a Brabham. Hewland Mk 4 gearbox. The car originally raced with an engine cover. I have pictures to assist with making another cover if required. It first raced in Decemeber 1969 at Hume Weir circuit, Victoria. Successfully raced over the next few years and is recorded with Formula Ford Australia as the 12th car registered when the class began in Australia-chassis tag still attached. In 1973 the car was fitted with a 1300cc Ford engine and slicks and ran as Australian F3. It later gained wings. It was put away in 1975 until 1997 when it was returned to formula ford specs. Full history available.The car has a CAMS Certificate of Description and a historic log book. It has recently had an engine freshen up with new rings, bearings, cam followers, valves and springs. All suspension heim joints replaced, rebuilt hydraulics and new driveshaft donuts. The car is elligible and has been accepted into the UK HSCC pre'72 Formula Ford series.
