Group Lb Cams logbooked C of D single seat Australian Special. Recently restored Historic race car in Group Lb. Raced extensively at most tracks in Australia. Original Cams Log books from 1977 to 1991. The car was originally built in Sydney by Ted Read an engineer, the tubular chassis a copy of the Mercedes W196. It was retired from racing in 1992 and stored. I purchased the car 8 years ago and comprehensively restored it to show winning condition. Driven recently at Gear events, Morgan Park and has won Leyburn Street sprints two years running in Group Lb. It has also won The Noosa Beach Car show three times in the Competition Class which is a testament to its quality restoration. The car runs a warm Holden Grey motor with MG TC Needham straight cut close ratio gearbox, Peugeot 203 front end and Skoda Octavia independant rear suspension. It handles beautifully at speed and is very quick. It is eligible for any Cams approved event in Australia. Recent updates include new rear axles, new brakes and new engine.
