After over 8 years of ownership, it's time to finally list my pride and joy for sale. It barely gets driven and I'd prefer a build like this to be enjoyed and driven the way that it was designed to. The car has seen a handful of non competitive track days in the time I've owned it and a single timed day @ Phillip Island (Subinats), on the original EJ257 setup.

I'm the 2nd owner and took this car on in 2013 with some basic modifications already. I've played with various aspects of the setup, until 2017 when I was lucky enough to get my hands on an EJ207 W20C long motor (with thick liner bottom end and massive intake/exhaust ports on the heads). This motor was re-built with forged internals, balanced and installed in 2017 and has been super reliable ever since. Turbo-wise I settled on a custom setup based around the Borg Warner EFR7163 and an air-water intercooler.

I wanted a very quick, unique, reliable, daily-able car with a wide powerband and I feel that I've achieved that with this setup. It's still running the long-ratio 6MT so it hits 100Km/h at the top of 2nd gear (thanks to the 8250RPM redline).

I've tried to bring over as many of the JDM GRB STI components as possible - the car is running a JDM GRB STI "Quick Rack" (rebuilt in 2021) as well as the JDM (8000 RPM tachometer) dash cluster from the car the engine came out of. I also swapped the front seats to a set of Recaros that happen to be from a JDM GRB STI, so its basically a 2008 Spec R minus the wheels.

It was tuned in November of 2017 by GIR and is running a speed-density, flex-fuel tune. It made 301KW (E85) and 258KW (98 RON) and at the time had an issue with the original AWIC pump, so IATs were less than ideal. I have refined/simplified the AWIC setup since then and upgraded the pump. The setup is capable of more, but its already quite a handful so I haven't felt the need to run it up on the dyno again.

The car was the basis for a lot of the development work I did on the aijmod project (open-source flex fuel on the stock ECU) and is currently running a custom version, with custom CANBus integration work as well as some newer tweaks I've added. The Stock ECU is now pulling in Ethanol and Wideband information via CANBus, which has free'd up some of the other inputs (TGVs, Rear O2) for oil/fuel pressure and oil temperature. All of this is normalised and output back to the CANbus to feed a custom gauge setup that displays all the important stuff whilst looking very inconspicuous/OEM. The intent was to build a full race style dash cluster but I never quite got there.

Whilst the kilometers on the body are what you'd expect for a daily of this cars age (and it does show on some of the internal trim pieces etc), I've only put approximately 55,000KM on the engine. I recently had a panel shop PDR and correct some of the paint damage that the car has accumulated over its life (mainly shopping centre dints and stone chips) and also fit a new set of rims (SSR GTSV02).

I have the majority of the original parts, including the original EJ257 short block (Cosworth pistons, Cosworth rods, ARP case bolts, Cosworth oil pump) and cylinder heads and for the right price will be happy to let these go with the car.
