Up for sale is my 1985 Toyota Corolla AE82 Track Car

I bought the car off the original owner in 2012 and built it to what it is today. The car had 90,000kms on it when I bought it and has probably done 3,000kms total since I turned it into a track car, of which probably two thirds have been on the track as it has been on club registration. A complete Twincam model was purchased and everything swapped into this car. Why would anyone do that you ask? Because the look on people’s faces when grandad’s brown Corolla overtakes them on the track is priceless!

The specs of the car:

- Silvertop 20V 4AGE rebuilt in 2013
- New timing belt/seals/ACL race bearings, ARP head studs and genuine Toyota VRS gasket set
- Remote oil filter and oil cooler fitted
- TOMS Carbon Fibre Inlet plenum
- SQ Engineering Velocity Stacks
- Blacktop 20V headers with 2.5” exhaust
- Greddy Emanage Blue engine management
- TRD Ignition leads
- C56 LSD gearbox
- 20V equal length driveshaft setup (less torque steer)
- Custom Short Shifter with AW11 Gear knob
- Lightweight Flywheel
- Heavy Duty clutch
- MRP Coilovers
- MRP Wilwood front brake setup with 288mm rotors
- AE112R Brake Master Cylinder
- Adjustable brake bias valve (currently mounted in engine bay)
- Twincam Disc rear brakes
- Sparco Sprint seat
- Momo Prototipo Steering Wheel
- Manual steering column and rack fitted
- Urethane bushes fitted throughout
- Bond Roll Bars bolt in half cage
- Whiteline adjustable rear sway bar with stock Twincam front
- Twincam front strut brace
- Twincam wiring harness/instrument cluster/brake and fuel lines as well as fuel tank fitted
- Oil temperature and pressure gauges fitted
- Shift light (set at 7600rpm where car made peak power on Dyno)
- Mazda MX5 NB8A Wheels with used 195/50/15 Nankang NS-2R tyres
- RPM 6 point harness (due to be replaced at the end of next year)

The motor was rebuilt by a workshop I used to work for (I’m a former auto electrician) and has had its oil changed after every race meeting with the gearbox oil and coolant changed every year. The body and paint present excellent with only very minor rust in the rear wheel arch and around the fuel filler. The car has never let me down and requires very basic maintenance. Literally replace the oil and filter, bleed the brakes and check the wheel alignment and It’s good to go again.

Asking $9000. While it’s not cheap you couldn’t build this car for that money. A lot of the parts used are almost impossible to find these days or no longer available. Car could easily be put back on the road with minimal parts.

I also have a lot of spare parts:

- A spare C56 LSD gearbox
- A spare equal length driveshaft setup
- A new TRD 4.733 final drive assembly (I’d planned to fit it to the spare gearbox)
- A new TRD Headgasket
- Stock Intake plenum with factory and TOMS Racing velocity stacks
- Another set of NB8A rims with used Nankang 195/50/15 NS-2R tyres
- A spare 20V ECU, igniter and coil, alternator and air flow meter
- A set of Silvertop 20V 4-2 headers
- A spare Twincam instrument cluster
- A spare manual steering rack and column
- A new clutch master cylinder
- A new set of 4 wheel bearings

For all the spares I’d be after $2000, will not seperate until car is sold.
