This Big Healey was entered into the 1994 Northern Territory Cannonball Run and issued with number plate 133. The race covered 3,755 kilometres stretching from Darwin, down the Stuart Highway all the way to Alice Springs. The 1994 Cannonball Run was a legal event run in the Northern Territory, Australia from 22 May to 27 May 1994.

This sale includes extremely rare, one off, Cannonball Run memorabilia including road signage, Chief Ministers participation timber plaque, officials overalls (marked with red dust), souvenir T-shit, reproduction 133 number plate and a number of documents and items from the race. The Healey placed 82 out of 118 vehicles which participated in the Cannonball Run.

This heavily modified 1957 Austin Healey 106 BN4 is believed to have been constructed in Victoria in the early 1980's. The vehicle has original Healey chassis, doors and diff however virtually everything else has been modified to take the power of the 4.4L Leyland V8. The lightweight V8 is mated to a single rail gearbox while steering is Subaru rack and pinion making light work of steering the 265 R15 front tyres while the rears are 275 R15's, all tyres have been newly replaced. The vehicle also has disc brakes all round with twin power assist ensuring excellent braking.

All panels, other than the doors, are fibreglass making for a light weight easily repairable vehicle.

Also included is a fibreglass hardtop, soft-top, tourney cover and side screens. The black interior is in great condition providing a surprisingly comfortable ride.

Weighing in at one ton the vehicle is evenly weighted at 500kg over the rear and the front wheels.

This vehicle has been located in the Northern Territory (NT) for the past 30 years and has paperwork for road use in the NT.

The Healey's paint is in original condition while recent rewiring sees this as a reliable comfortable weekend cruiser or a proven racer ready to go racing again.
