1980 Lobito Clubman

A one off Lobito Clubman built by well know racer and hill climb champion Leo Bates. Frame was started in 1965, Leo then gave up racing to pursue other interests, the car was finished in 1980.
The Lobito was log booked in 1999..First used at hill climbs and sprint meetings. It has been on Vic club plates since 2001.
Some specs.. A 1600cc Ford Kent motor. Quaiffe slippery diff. Cosworth head. Cosworth crank.
This car has won the Victorian Hill Climb Championship in the sports car class up to 1600cc in 2014. It's fastest times are Rob Roy 24.26 ,Mangalore 400 mtrs sprint 15.16, the old Morwell hill climb 36.41, Ararat hill climb (long track) 72.09 Broadford 46.09 and Mt Leura hill climb 35.60.Lobito by the way is Spanish Wolf.
