The previous owner purchased this Racecar directly from Wayne Van Raden of Van Raden Industries in Portland Oregan USA. He had the engine fully reconditioned when he bought it with only 3 runs on it when he sold it. The engine rebuild was confirmed by Jeff Radbourne of Radbourne Performance in Portland OREGAN who stated the engine was at 153cu.in. The previous owner posted a photo of the car on (4) Vintage Speedway sites with a reply that the Kalitta Bros of Fuel Dragster and Speedway fame drove USA 2 in Cedar Lakes New Richmond Wisconsin for a time in the mid to late 80’s who also claimed that Tony Stewart USAC Champion drove the car at INDIANA Speedweek also at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver Pennsylvania, Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg PA & Cedar Lake. New Richmond Wisconsin.
Dave ELLIS owner of ELLIS RACE CARS in Phoenix Arizona confirmed the chassis was built in mid-to-late 1988 & he did the lay-down engine conversion in mid-1989. The Engine configuration is with an Alloy cylinder head and HILBORN fuel Injection running on Methanol Fuel the cylinder head has recently been removed to replace ALL the valve springs, the previous owner states the bore still has hone marks from last reboring. Which concludes the engine has had little running since a rebuild.
