FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 15 YEARS, WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT PERKINS ENGINEERING HOLDEN COMMODORE V8 SUPERCAR PE036!

1999 PE036 Castrol/Perkins Engineering V8 Supercar “Silver Bullet” driven by the Enforcer Russell Ingall. Bodied as the road going VT commodore, this amazing machine was the forefront of the V8 touring car series in the year 2000. Larry Perkins with his Castrol sponsored holden Commodores always proved to be a crowd favourite. PE036 debut to the V8 touring car series was proving to be a controversial due to the modifications made by Larry Perkins and the Perkins Engineering team, saw PE036 become one of the most famous V8 Supercars to date.
For the year of 2000 Shell Championship series saw Perkins Engineering running a two- car team with Russel Ingall piloting the sister car to Larry’s Machine. The heart of this fire breathing machine was a Chevrolet five-litre V8 which was comprised of a 302 case iron Bowtie GM performance block which produced approximately 620hp.

Rather than starting from a road car much as many of the V8 Supercars did, PE036 differed to the normal as it ran a full Chrome-Molly roll cage with a double hoop with a first, a diagonal bar across the windscreen which became later known as the “Larry Bar”.
The FIA investigated the vehicle due to the Larry bar being a potential hazard impeding the vision of the drivers whilst racing... Later proving to be a common feature on the cars moving forward after saving Craig Lowndes’ life when a wheel assembly landed on his windscreen at high speed in the 2005 Bathurst 1000.

The Silver Bullet was hand built in the Perkins Engineering Facility located in Melbourne, Victoria. For the year raced in 2000, saw Ingall finish the year in ninth position having taken points in almost every round of the series.
Following the 2000 Championship Team Kiwi Racing had purchased the vehicle and the current owner purchased it later in 2004 from TKR. Since then the car was returned to its original 2000 livery and has had a driveline refresh with minimal racing hours logged.
The car has been featured in many car shows raising money for children with cancer and been shown in car shows at Bathurst and other such events.

The car is currently for sale and looking for a new custodian. The car will come with a vast array of period correct spare parts which will see the new owner through any track events moving into the future. To own such an amazing piece of motoring history is such a privilege and this car would suit the most avid collector/enthusiast.
