2007 Renault Megane Sport R26

• The Megane Renault Sport 230 Renault F1 Team R26 (commonly referred to as the R26) is a limited edition that commemorates the success of Renault in the F1 World Championship with the 2005 and 2006 Constructors' and Drivers' Championship titles and is named after Renault’s 2006 F1 car

• Renault has never been in the business of building middle-of-the-road hot hatches and the R26 is no exception – it received rave reviews in Australia and internationally

• Only 100 units were imported into Australia by Renault – an initial batch of 80 cars in August 2007 and an additional 20 cars in June 2008 – making them a very rare sight

• In standard guise, the R26 is rated at 227hp at 5,500rpm and 310Nm at 3,000rpm from its 2.0L turbocharged engine and is good for a top speed of almost 240kph

• The R26 was only available with a 6-speed manual transmission and sprints from 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds

• This particular example (build number 1415) has been with its current owner for three years and has been setup for timed rally sprint events on tarmac

• The engine is completely stock, save for a 2.75-inch turbo-back exhaust system courtesy of Tokyo Motorsports and a Pipercross air filter

• The odometer reads 127,624 kilometres

• The car is currently unregistered however it is not on the WOVR should the new owner wish to go down the path of registration at a point in time in the future
