When the all-new Subaru BRZ was released in 2022, Australian motoring journalists were unanimous in their praise for the car in that it had taken all of the best elements of the original BRZ and made it even better. Specifically, they were highly complimentary of the carโs driveline, with an enlarged engine (from 2.0L to 2.4L), a tweaked six-speed manual transmission and a final drive ratio that was stretched to give it more legs. The end result? A more powerful and more dynamic package that delivers even more thrills than before.
So, when this BRZโs current owner was looking to build a reliable and competitive production car, the answer was clear: the rear-wheel drive coupe from Japan was the obvious choice.
The dedicated track car has only 5,585 kilometres on the odometer and is a completely fresh build โ it has only travelled 800 kilometres since the project was completed, with last yearโs Challenge Bathurst treated as a shakedown for further development. Since then, it has only been used for a handful of track days at Sandown and Phillip Island.
The BRZ is Motorsport Australia log booked (3E Series Production Class) and has been fitted with a National-spec Brown Davis roll cage (certification number 73284). The driveline is exactly as it was when it rolled off the production line at Gunma, Japan and the car is capable of a 1:26.7 at Sandown in the hands of its owner with standard ECU and standard exhaust.
The car has never been flat shifted and has always been driven with respect. As you can see from the image gallery, the car has been built to an incredibly high standard and is only being offered for sale due to another project that is on the horizon.
