BMW Z4M Roadster - Manual

A future classic in the making, the BMW Z4M Roadster is one of the last truly analogue sports cars – a rare breed that demands driver involvement and rewards with every turn of the wheel. With its legendary S54 naturally aspirated six cylinder engine, 50:50 weight distribution, one of the best limited slip differentials in the business and proper hydraulic steering, there is no denying that the Z4M is absolutely a driver’s car. When BMW gave the green light to the project back in 2004, Professor Ulrich Brunkhe (president of the M division) summed up the brief perfectly... “from development this is the fastest car we have ever done but it’s still an M car. We always want to keep the spirit of an M car clean – they have to have the DNA of an M. We will never just re-label things.” The executives at Munich did not shy away from the fact that with the Z4M they would go “Porsche hunting” to try and lure potential 911 buyers across to BMW.

With a reported figure of only 916 RHD Roadsters manufactured (and an ever-shrinking pool of well-maintained, original examples left on the road), this is a model that’s quickly ascending the modern classic ladder. This particular example has been with the same family for the past eight years, during which time it has been garaged, well cared for and driven sparingly. The current custodian is the third owner of the car from new, and the vehicle remains completely original, with no aftermarket modifications, preserving its factory character and long-term value.
