Custom Clubman - Ford Zetec Powered

• This custom Clubman is a track prepared open top roadster that would be suitable for a range of club-level events
• Powered by a 2.0L Ford Zetec “silvertop” engine that produces approximately 130hp from the factory
• The gearbox is a four-speed manual, believed to be from a Ford Escort
• The Clubman’s steering components have been recently overhauled, as has the car’s fuel system
• Stopping power is courtesy of front disc brakes and rear drum brakes to the rear
• The car wears 15-inch Performance alloy wheels wrapped in Nankang AR1 tyres that have only been used for one hill climb
• All fluids, oils and filters have recently been refreshed

The car’s owner acquired the car many years ago as part of a business purchase whereby the Clubman had been parked in the corner of a factory for some time (it is for this reason that some of the build specification is unknown). Wanting to see what the Clubman was capable of at the track, the owner entered the car in a local hill climb where the car performed admirably. The only downside? Being over 6”3 tall, the owner didn’t quite fit in the car as he would have liked and thus it is being offered for sale.

The Clubman does not have any identification plate, VIN or tags and is therefore only suitable for track use. Having said this, we can’t help but think that the car would be a lot of fun at a club sprint day, motorkhana or khanacross. The seller notes that whilst the brakes are fully functional, he would recommend that the pads and/or discs are replaced to ensue complete driver confidence at the track. Finally, the owner reports that the car does from time to time exhibit a rough idle which he believes could be related to a vacuum leak or sensor fault – a relatively quick fix however he hasn’t applied the time to diagnose it properly.

An excellent opportunity for someone to take this car to the next level and give it a proper freshen up, this Zetec powered Clubman has all the makings to become a fun and spritely track car for its next owner to enjoy.
