Without question one of the most eye-catching and memorable liveries from V8 Supercar racing in the late 2000s is the blue, orange and white that adorned the Britek Motorsport Ford Falcon BF. Irrespective of whether you are a Holden fan or in the corner of the Blue Oval, Britek absolutely hit the mark when it came up with its Fujitsu livery โ it looks sensational from every angle.
And that is something that the new owner is going to have to get their head around: add it to a collection or drive it as it was intended when it was built. What a great problem to have!
Offered for sale after eight years of ownership, chassis BM 003 is the last of the Britek Motorsport Falcon V8 Supercars built and raced by the team owned by Bathurst 1000 winner Jason Bright.
Built using an Ontrack Engineering chassis (BA2607), the car followed on from the pair of ex-Ford Performance Racing Falcons the Britek team had rebuilt (re-designated BM 001 and BM 002) that were used in its first three seasons in V8 Supercars in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
BM 003 made its race debut in Brightโs hands as the #25 Fujitsu Falcon BF at the BigPond 400 at Barbagallo in Perth in May 2008. The car was then raced by Bright throughout the rest of the 2008 season, competing in the last 11 rounds of that yearโs championship. He was joined by co-driver Adam Macrow and the duo finished 11th at the Phillip Island 500 and ninth in the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. Its final appearance in was the season final round at Oran Park in Sydney, where it finished 7th overall - the carโs best round result of its short life in the main V8 Supercar Championship.
Britek closed its doors at the end of the year, though the BM 003 chassis did some racing in 2009 when it was driven by Leanne Tander in select rounds of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series to assist with her preparation to return to that yearโs V8 Supercar endurance races. From 2011 to 2103 it was driven by Justin Garioch in the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series whereby he achieved pole and victories at Sydney Motorsport Park before being acquired and raced by Matt Chahda in late-2013 and 2014. The car made a one-off appearance in the opening round of the 2016 season at Sandown before being sold to its current owner (Tracey Motorsport), who returned it to race in the series in 2018 and then in the newly rebranded Super3 in 2019 and 2020. Testament to the carโs performance and reliability, it won at Bathurst in 2020 (refer image gallery for a photo of the trophy on the roof of the car).
Recently returned to its #25 Jason Bright Fujitsu livery, BM 003 presents in outstanding condition both from an aesthetic and mechanical point of view. For a number of months during 2021/22, the car was meticulously looked after by the team at Brad Jones Racing whereby the instructions from its owner were clear: go over the car with a fine-toothed comb and anything that needs attention, go ahead and do it. And as you can see from the image gallery, everything on the car is nothing short of immaculate โ a combined effort from both Tracey Motorsport and BJR who have maintained the car irrespective of expense.
Key specifications:
โข 5.0L V8 engine built by Dick Johnson Racing (engine #17)
โข Holinger 6 speed sequential gearbox
โข Alcon brakes
โข Project Mu pads
โข Sachs shocks (serviced by BJR)
โข 9โ inch differential with Watt's linkage
Whether you are thinking about adding an immaculate Britek Ford Falcon to an existing collection or perhaps looking for a car to enjoy on the occasional track day, BM 003 is an exceptional opportunity to put yourself behind the wheel of an outstanding car. And should the new owner wish to do some serious racing, included with the sale is an allocation entry to Bathurst Challenge and the Bathurst 12 Hour Combined Sedans race.
In summary, this is one of the cleanest ex-V8 Supercar Ford Falcons (with Bathurst history) in the country and it is now offered for sale, ready for its new owner to enjoy. A very reluctant sale, the only reason it is on the market is to help support Blake Traceyโs aspirations of one day making it on the grid for a V8 Supercar season, something that is looking very promising for the young driver. Place a bid now to make it yours.
