The first of only 7 original factory 4 door GMP&A race shells, build number #1. These special A9X Toranas came straight from the factory with extra stitch welding, spot welding and the sound deadening and seam sealing deleted. With a career spanning 35 meetings from Sandown in September 1977 to Surfers Paradise in November 1982, this car is undoubtedly one of the most raced A9X’s in Group C Touring car history.

In the early 2000’s the car was brought back to its former racing glory and it’s presented today in the livery of the 1977 Bathurst Hardie-Ferodo race driven by Bob Morris and John Fitzpatrick under the banner of the Rod Hodgson Motors Race Team. Early in the race it suffered a rear flat tyre and was running third on lap 111 when it was forced to pull out with mechanical failure.

The A9X is offered for sale after a meticulous restoration, with extensive documentation supporting line of ownership, testimonials and racing history with all period log books, current Historic log book, full Certificate of Description, is race ready and eligible to compete in the Heritage Touring Car Racing Series. It also has a full steel roll cage which makes it eligible to race overseas.
