This Subaru WRX MY04 is a highly developed track car that has been meticulously maintained during its current custodianship and by its previous owner. It has predominantly been campaigned at Marque Sports Car Association sprints but would also be suitable for hill climbs and other tarmac events. The WRX has a Motorsport Australia logbook and benefits from a comprehensive roll cage built to National Rally standards (structure number M050315).
After four years of ownership, the Subaru is now reluctantly offered for sale so that the owner and his son can pursue other motorsport categories. This is an exceptionally versatile, reliable car that has the potential to be used for a variety of racing disciplines and - given the odometer reads a low 47,733 kilometres - is sure to put a smile on the next owner's face for many years to come.

As you will see from the image gallery, the interior of the WRX has been engineered to a very high standard, both from a driver comfort and safety point of view. The fully welded roll cage (built by Meridian Motorsport) has CAMS compliant padding whilst still allowing for easy access in and out of the car. A pair of Sparco Pro 2000 race seats are matched with 5-point HANS-compatible harnesses manufactured by RPM Racegear. The seller notes that some of the blue trim on the seats could do with minor re-stitching but aside from this, they present well.
A digital intercom (with Stilo plugs and Bluetooth) has been installed, with the control module neatly installed in the centre console. Driver input is taken care of by a NRG 3.0 quick release steering wheel in black suede whilst a Sparco shifter has been installed to replace the factory gear knob. Mounted directly above the steering wheel is an Ecliptech Shift-P2 programmable shift light as well as a prominent boost gauge to keep an eye on turbo pressure. The car’s battery has been relocated to the boot (with cut-off) and low intercooler temps are all sorted thanks to a custom water tank mounted directly behind the front seats for the car's spray system.
Presented in Java Black Pearl, the WRX has proven to be a very fast and highly capable track car, achieving the following lap times:
• Sandown = 1:26
• Phillip Island = 1:55
• The Bend = 2:18 (in-car footage from The Bend here: https://youtu.be/kOGu41V9nks?si=4zSBMKARGbb8agJ6)
In summary, if you are in the market for a well-built, reliable WRX that has the potential to offer many years of enjoyment behind the wheel then this is an excellent opportunity to acquire one of Subaru’s legendary turbocharged sedans at a fraction of the build cost.
