With Jaguar Land Rover committing to “all electric” by 2025 some years ago, the end of an illustrious internal combustion era is upon us. And if policy mandates it so, best go out with a bang, a seriously LOUD bang!
To commemorate Jaguar’s 7 historic wins of the infamous Le Mans 24 Hour race, the Project 7 was styled as an ode to the most legendary of victors, the 50’s D-Type. The iconic drivers side head ’tunnel’ the most striking of features carried through to this modern iteration.
Based on the hugely successful F-Type platform, this Special Operations hand build masterpiece features a foldable cloth top that can be removed and stowed, race bucket seats with harnesses, active switchable sports exhaust system with ceramic coated quad tips, a custom car cover and even a Bell racing helmet in matching livery including the case!
For propulsion, this iteration swapped the earlier 3.0-3.8 litre straight 6 of the D-Type for the R Spec derived 575 horsepower supercharged 5.0 litre V8. It is an engineering masterpiece and the audible symphony is something we will miss in the EV age. It howls!

Only 250 Project 7’s were made, the most striking being this hero colour in British Racing Green (befittingly). 10 were earmarked for Australian delivery and immediately sold out well in advance of production. With less than 1,200 kilometres, this example remains ‘as-new'.
