Mygale M12-SJ Formula Ford EcoBoost Turbo
Australasia’s fastest Formula Ford.
Almost 300hp and weighing approximately 465kgs, this turbocharged Mygale Formula Ford has a higher power-to-weight ratio than a Pagani Huayra, Porsche 918 Spyder and even a Bugatti Veyron. And it is now ready for its new owner to enjoy out on the racetrack.
Chassis 004 was originally supplied by Mygale to Joe Tandy Racing (JTR) in the UK and run by JTR in the British Formula Ford series in 2012, 2013 and 2014 with wins at Nürburgring, Silverstone, Snetterton and Rockingham. JTR won the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain in 2012, 2013 and 2014 with Mygale taking the constructors championship in each year also. Chassis 004 was subsequently sold into Ireland in 2015 to compete in the BOSS series and won the BOSS 1 series in 2018. It was whilst the car was in Ireland that a larger turbo, intercooler and limited slip differential were fitted to the Formula Ford turning it into the impressive open wheeler that it is today.
The current owner brought the Mygale to New Zealand in 2019. It has a current Motorsport New Zealand Logbook as well as the MSA UK Vehicle Passport. Included with the sale is a Mygale User Manual (with all dimensions and comprehensive setup data), the Life Racing User Manual and Mygale Spares Catalogue for both the M12 and M13 specs.
Upon taking delivery of the car, the ECU was locked (as per Ford standard practice) however contact was made with Ford UK to negotiate unlocking of the ECU, meaning that the new owner will have unlimited access to the ECU and be able to see exactly what is going on.
The car has been run only a few times in New Zealand; a handful of test days, a day with the Formula Open cars and a day with the Sports Car New Zealand group (SCNZ include a grid for Formula Libre). There are a range of options to run the car competitively both here in New Zealand and Australia.

Three sets of rims come with the car - one set with slicks, one with wets and the other set without tyres. All replacement parts are available via Mygale.
