It's time for my Humber Speedster project to be passed along to someone who can finish it.
I had always wanted a pre-1920’s Speedster but as they don’t suit the highway driving of today I decided to make one from a car that could. The donor car was a ’32 Humber rolling Chassis. All the hard work has been done, and 99% of the materials and components purchased. I have chronicled the build in photographs and a blog, plus starting the engine for the first time on a video. When going through the parts that came with the car I found a note book listing all the costs the now deceased previous owner had incurred. From these costs it shows money spent on an engine, diff, suspension & brake rebuild, with photos that show the work being done. The main photo shows the car assembled at this time with all the new parts in front. Of particular note is the Holden ID tag with the ‘Body No. 1’ on it. This indicates to me it was the first Humber Snipe body built by Holden in Australia! The mudguards are reproduction 1916 T Ford, the body and Turtle back boot built by me. I have recently purchased what I was looking for all these years, so the Humber has to go. If you have any questions, call me on 0409 626 751.
