1954 Austin Healey Sprite

The Austin-Healey 100 is a sports car that was built by Austin-Healey from 1953 until 1956. Based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals, it was developed by Donald Healey to be produced in-house by his small Healey car company in Warwick. Healey built a single Healey Hundred for the 1952 London Motor Show, and the design impressed Leonard Lord, managing director of Austin, who was looking for a replacement for the unsuccessful A90. The “100” was named by Healey for the car’s ability to reach 100 mph. This BN1 is beautifully presented in stunning black paint with period style widened wheels and stencilled tyres. The numbered livery also works perfectly with the theme of the car. The interior of the car has been tastefully upgraded with the tartan style seats and the addition of a centre console with cup holders. Underneath the custom fluted bonnet is a 2.6 litre engine that has been stroked to a 3 litre with an upgraded cam, headwork, Delorto carbie and extractors. The Austin has a CAMS logbook which shows an extensive race history between 1994 and 2000 at popular race circuits such as Amaroo and Mount Panorama, Bathurst. Now available for inspection
