Offers are invited for my 1975 ALFA ROMEO BERLINA 2000A. The car is currently comprehensively insured for $45,000. And at Shannon’s Auctions a 1967 un-restored 1750 Berlina sold for $30,000 (LOT 104 Winter Auction June 2021).

I’m selling this car because it has been standing still for the last 4 years, and I have spent about $5,000 in preparation for it’s sale. I'm hoping an Alfa Romeo enthusiast will give it a good home.

Giorgetto Giugiaro (Bertone Studios) designed the Berlina with a raked wind shield, big windows, and 4 headlights with a completely black grille around the Alfa Romeo shield badge. An instrument cluster in front of the driver featured big dials for the tachometer and speedometer. And 3 other additional gauges were mounted on the dash panels’ front side. A centre console had the gear-selector for the three speed ZF Auto Transmission (ZF3HP12), where second gear goes all the way up to 80miles per hour (good for overtaking). Being an automatic the car is rare. I’m told a limited number (296?) were imported. Alfa Romeo installed a 2 litre engine fed by two Weber carburetors. And the coils-spring suspension in all corners ensured a comfortable ride, with good cornering speed abilities.

I am the second owner of this car which has been with me for 47 years, bringing me much joy as my daily driver. This era of Alfa’s has direct feedback between what the car is doing on the road, and driver engagement. Finished in the desirable Le Mans blue, the car has IROMEO private plates, which are also available for sale (separately by negotiation).

Over the years the car has had mechanicals & servicing attended to. Rust has been removed from the body, and it has been re-sprayed. It has a roof-mounted antenna, a rear spoiler with integrated brake light, original rims widened to 6” and chromed, shod with 185/HR 14 Continentals. Cloth inserts have been added to the seats and doors, and a rear console divider added, as well as electronic ignition, and upgraded seat belts. The car also has sports cams, an LSD, and upgraded bilstein rear shock absorbers.
