After just over 10 years we have finally outgrown our truck, new race plans means bigger truck required. This is an Isuzu FTR900 truck,6BD1 diesel, turbo charged 5 speed. Has a 7 metre box and 1.5m kitchenette. This takes our 5.4m long race car with wheelie bars, PLUS the golf cart, PLUS has a single bed in the rear section. The kitchen has a fold down bunk bed, plus fridge, and microwave and bench plus full height storage cupboard. Truck has 240v throughout and air compressor and retractable air hose. Loads of storage down each side plus inside the box. 4m long wide ramps, plus double angle banana for long and low cars. High powered winch for the car, plus a second one for the golf kart that loads up above the race car bonnet. This truck can take anything you want. You can have it fully loaded, race car and golf kart and still sleep 3 people in it, for 2 day trips to the track. We only ever used it to race in Sydney and the Summernats trips. Since we had it it’s done about 50,000KMS.
In that time we have replaced...whole new engine build, pistons, sleeves, valves, springs etc full build, new injectors, water pump and radiator and fan. New alternator. New 17.5 tubeless wheels and heavy duty new tyres ( no retreads )new brake cylinders, drums, shoes and all parts on the back. New indicator assembly. LED headlights and tail lights and side lights. New unis. Has rear view camera, tyre pressure monitors on ALL wheels. It is now turbocharged and intercooled 12 psi. This is easy to drive on a MR licence just jump in and go ( That’s what we do ) sits on 100 no worries, 110 if your in a hurry ( no speed limiter ) on 100 it does around 22 l/100 fully loaded ( Sydney trip ). These are super reliable and easy to get parts and cheap to maintain. We love it, as it’s get in and go. Only reason for sale is we are expanding the team and need to take 2 cars.
