This is an ex fire truck , in the throws of conversion to a transporter / motor home. The rego has just expired. It was previously registered as an “appliance” . It was a fire truck pumper , but has obviously had all the pumps, bodywork and ancillary equipment relating to the pumps removed. The beavertail deck and box body framing was professionally fabricated and fitted to the chassis. It was going to transport my race car but my back (and advancing years 😂) has necessitated a change in hobbies, the racecar has been sold and this vehicle is now surplus to requirement . It is a blank canvas inside , aside from the fitted 12v winch and house battery box.
The truck runs well and easy to drive, with the 7.0 L straight 6 turbo diesel mated to an Allison Automatic. Power steering and bouncy drivers seat. MR licence required. One option I looked as was to turn it into a motor home .. I’ve had it weighed and it comes in around 7.5 tonnes empty, so could easily be fitted out to come in under 10 tonnes, and be blue plated as such and registered as a motor home. It is far too big for my requirements to pursue this option.
It is 2.5 x 4.5 inside the box. There are a few final works required ,

the roof of the box at the rear , requires cutting to final size and riveting to the frame.
The surplus air lines ( used as electric over air to operate the pumping valves) removed
Spare wheel mounts fabricated (two wheels included)
Aluminium trim replaced on the body. (Provided)
The speedo replaced it odometer stopped , a new speedo was around $700 ! So I never
Bothered, the speedo itself still works . The truck has about 380,000 on it in total.

There are probably other bits and pieces need checking and attention. It has been sitting for about 6 months. There are half a dozen rust holes in the roof area, the single largest one being about 10 cent size under the aero thing. Pics show them.
The paint was my first attempt as a spray painter and is ok from a couple of metres .. but it still looks much better than the original red !

There are two brand new aluminium 3 tonne ramps (3 metres long) included. The back door of the truck is lowered down further than in the pics , and the ramps placed at the lower edge of the door.

The box is being used as a shed at the moment , obviously the crap in the back isn’t included !

Vehicle can be driven on daily permit (plates will be removed) vehicle will require inspection prior to registration. NOTE: initial enquiries confirmed that it Can also be Club registered !

The price is negotiable and I’m happy to trade old car (carby and points type only) bike , boat ect ... if an interesting deal , cash either way ok if required.
