1969 Mazda R100 Rotary Historic Sports Sedan.

A Significant piece of Aust. Sports Sedan and Mazda racing history.

Early history:
Neville Cherry built in 1977 & raced in Tasmanian. Raced in Sports Sedans and was the quickest under 3Lt Sports Sedan holding lap records till 1981, when beaten by Allen Grice’s JPS BMW Sports Sedan.
In 1982 car was sold to Fred Munday who raced in the Victorian Sports Sedan Championship, Larry Kogge continued to develop the R100, winning the 1984 Victorian Sports Sedan Championship. In 1984-85 the R100 also raced in the Australian GT rounds against the Rusty French’s Pantera, Peter Brock in the Monza, Allen Grice’s Monza, Allan Jones’s Porches 935, John Bowe’s Veskar sport car, Bryan Thomson - Mercedes 450Sl / Chev Monza.

Note: The car is GRP U Eligible, however we have not done this yet, as we have been running as an invited car with an injected motor. It last raced in the HRCC 2025 Autumn Historics. We have owned the car since 2014.
Hopefully the next owners can find the time and energy to campaign the car nationally in Group U/Historic Sports Sedans.

The car will come with CAMS Logbook, all available spares, large restoration folder (prior owner), magazine covers and magazine features/articles of the car, etc.

Currently painted white over Blue, however there are a number of pre-1986 era Sponsor and Color schemes the car could be returned to. (Rheem, Valvoline, etc..)

The current injected motor is going into a street car.
Therefore, the R100 will be sold with either of the 2 following engine options:

- WITHOUT motor for those that want to use their own engine - asking $65k, or
- WITH fresh 13BBP and 51 weber - asking $72k.
