This McLaren M10B was originally a spare tub for New Zealand Grand Prix winner the late Neil Allen after initially being crashed. After being sent back to Trojan for repair and returned, Allen would sell the tub and spare parts to Porsche ace Alan Hamilton who built the tub into a complete car.

Entering the Australian Drivers Championship in 1971 Hamilton came 3rd Australian Grand Prix and was equal 2nd in Gold Star Championship with Kevin Bartlett (who owner the sister car Neil Allen car).

The McLaren was then sold to Pat Bourke and Warwick Brown as Alan went on to purchase a Lola.

After some time both Chassis 19 and 2 ended up back with Alan – with one car complete and the other damaged after Brown had an accident at Warwick farm. The cars were rebuilt to be raced again in Historic F5000, with Alfie Constanzo at the wheel.

After an unfortunate accident at Sandown the car was rebuilt with new uprights, completely brand new tub, new DG300 Transmission, new wheels, brakes and an entire new engine with Aluminium heads. The car has since raced in a number of Historic races and is in like near new condition. 630kgs and near 550hp there is an awful lot of enjoyment to be had with a tough dependable car.
