1971 Ford Escort MK1

1970 MK1 Australian built Escort 2 Door

I purchased from a Tasmanian enthusiast 3 years ago. He had numerous cars and his fleet of 30 or more were auctioned off after his passing a year earlier. He was an avid collector and had 5 or more 2 door escorts at various levels.

The vehicle is an original Sydney built twin cam and when i purchased it was setup for historic type events.

I currently have many projects at various stages and my focus has turned to boating and not cars as I recently turned 50 and my focus has changed!

All components to complete vehicle have been purchased apart from rear diff Gears and electronics and ECU etc

Original setup when i purchased

- Factory 4 speed which had dog gears installed which i Sold
- English diff with 4 Link GRP4 Fabrications components
- Full welded cage
- Original fuel tank
- Twin 48mm Webers Sold(have setup and purchased all components for EFI)
- BDA 1600 built by Escort specialist in Melbourne. All Cosworth internals. Engine shows very minimal use and has sat for a few years not driven in shed
- Original twin cam Instrument cluster

Progress so far

- Installed GRP4 tunnel for Tractive 6 speed sequential
- Repaired minor rust in rear lower wheel arch and fabricated new sheet metal
- Installed new front floor pans as were not rusted but brake fluid and coolant had leaked due to sitting
- All aluminium components have been wet blasted and powdercoated
- Gearbox mount is fabricated and powdercoated
- English diff with upgraded shafts and internals
- AP racing calipers and pads
- Upgraded front suspension to GRP4 upper spec
- New floor mounted pedal box and master cylinders

extensive list and i have all receipts to confirm all parts that are included

Also included is a rolling dolly which bolts to front frame and sits on rear chassis for complete safe mobility
