#43 Racing 1982 Series 2 Group C RX7

Built as a tribute to Allan Moffat and his championship winning Peter Stuyvesant's Factory Team car. The car was viewed and approved by Allan with the dash signed by him. The car was also used for one his final interviews.

Built by me in 2010 and has run every season since in Heritage and Historic race meetings. Alec Bell from KiwiRE and MADLAB has worked with me to develop the car to where it is today.

The overall car has been continuously developed and is one of the fastest competitive Group C cars in NZ. Regular winner and top place finisher. An all steel car weighing in 960kg, including working pop up headlights etc.

Maintained to the highest level.

- Current motor built using new parts 9 meetings ago by Alec Bell
- New rotor housing with CNC inlet and exhaust ports. Porting is based on genuine MFR race housings we have for reference.
- New factory side plates.
- S6 front plate with competition oil pump

- 2 piece 3 bearing crank
- Detail blueprint and balanced
- Custom designed, CNC fabricated large capacity, gated and windowed sump. No oil pressure issues.
- Custom one-off cast inlet manifold
- EFI Hardware fuel injected, with custom throttle bodies, butterflies.
- Custom air box and intake
- Custom Stainless exhaust and muffler.
- Exhaust has been continuously developed seeking torque.
- All V-Band and easy to remove etc.
- Custom UK manufactured special order PWR radiator core, with fabrication by BNR/MADLAB
- Custom large oil cooler
- Drop style fuel tank, pumps, surge tank and enclosure.

HALTECH ECU
- EGT and O2 sensors setup for a close loop management

Gearbox

- New heavy duty roller bearing rear housing upgrade
- Gearbox cooler and pump
- Brand new Tilton 2 piece rally clutch and hyd release bearing (1 mtg)
- New 2 piece competition driveshaft
- Toyota Hilux diff 4.9 LSD Large axle.

Suspension
- KONI custom build race shocks
- Front large diameter shaft shocks (2 mtgs)
- Rear rebuilt (4 mtgs)
- Series 3 large stub axles
- Custom billet and high tensile front hubs with large race bearings
- Custom Rear 4-link with adjustable roll center watts link
- Front suspension uses modified techno tuning arms with adjustable sway bar
- Very rare TRD competition quick steering rack. Rebuilt.

- Endless 305mm x 34mm 2 piece floating discs

*VIDEO clip is the last time it raced in April 2026 in the HVRA/HERITAGE Race class. Car is as raced...but cleaned.
