1985 BMW E30 Racing Car -3J IP Improved Production

E30 Racing / 3J Improved Production BMW E30 325i, built from a 1985 non-sunroof 2-door shell (Australian Delivered 318i). 6-point State-Level Roll Cage, double diagonal in main hoop and door bars. Constructed with Bell Motorsport, Motorsport Australia logbooked as 3J in November 2020, has most recently been used for Garagistic BMW Drivers Cup competition in Victoria. Currently on VIC Club Historic Permit.

BMW M20B25 2500cc 6 Cylinder Motor, with 173 ECU (AFM Version), 64mm Throttle Body, spec Camshaft, Ireland Engineering Rockers. Sump modified with crank scraper and oil pan baffle. Late model 4-cylinder cooling system with integrated expansion tank, external oil cooler mounted to lower radiator support, crankcase breather tank. Long tube extractors into 2.5" single exhaust system. Upgraded engine mounts.

Getrag G260 5-Speed Overdrive Gearbox, Garagistic Tunnel Mounted Short Shifter, uprated clutch with lightened flywheel. 168mm ‘Small Case’ BMW Differential with 3.91:1 final drive ratio, welded into locker. Car also supplied with components to build 188mm 3.91:1 'Medium Case' BMW Differential (Casing x2, Backing Plate, Crown Wheel & Pinion, Carrier & Output Flanges).

Boot mounted fuel surge tank, upgraded fuel pump and filter. Category specified Fuel Sampling Port installed. 55L Fuel Tank.

DBA Slotted Brake Rotors and PFC Brake Pads, ATE Front & Rear Calipers, Original Master Cylinder, stainless braided brake hoses, flexible brake ducts and backing plates on front axle. Wilwood Adjustable Proportioning Valve installed on transmission tunnel.

Coil Over Front Struts, Adjustable Camber Plates, Manual-converted Power Steering Rack. KSport Adjustable Dampers & Springs (6kg/mm Front, 8kg/mm Rear), adjustable spring height platforms front & rear. Eccentric Trailing Arm Bushes, Original 18mm Front and 12mm Rear Sway Bars. Front & Rear Strut Braces. Extended wheel stud and nut conversion.

OMP 350mm alcantara deep dish steering wheel with OMP FIA quick release adaptor, OMP WRC-R Driver Seat, RPM Steel Side Mounts, RPM 6-Point Harness. RPM Coupe window net, SFI roll cage padding. Aluminium floor plate, fire extinguisher, electric cutoff master switch. LithiuMax Race 7+ battery, FIA Rain Light.

BMW Style 10 15x7 ET24 Wheels and Yokohama AO50 205/50R15 tyres currently fitted.

Excellent multi-purpose entry level package for use at track days, high performance driver training, motorkhanas, hillclimbs, regularities, sprints or wheel to wheel circuit racing.

Eligible for Garagistic BMW Drivers Cup, Improved Production events nationwide including State Racer 4Hour, AASA & MRA Super TT, and Australian 1000 (Wakefield 300, Sydney 300 & Winton 300).
