Unicorn. Low km time capsule. Period correct 1990s top tier-tuner car.

No matter how it's described, the seamless blend of O.E.M BMW
and original A.C. Schnitzer parts, makes this BMW 318i a truly unique,
classic sports sedan.

Fitted with the 1796cc M40 engine, some subtle tweaks have been
made to improve performance, driveability and fuel efficiency:
without compromising reliability.

(Please note: The cam-belt has always been replaced at the correct
interval specified by BMW).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some components fitted are not BMW, but are
widely regarded as high quality items, well worth having.

Despite having many of these performance biased parts fitted, it has
never been driven in anger on track-days.

These improvements are:

- Big Bore Throttle Body.

- BMC Carbon-fibre Dynamic Airbox (Shielded cold air induction:
less restrictive than O.E.M filter).

- Custom, free-flowing manifold (extractors), engineered to factory
standards in stainless steel & fabricated by local exhaust specialists Di Filipo.
(The only alternative, because a right hand application is not available).

- 200 Cell Brabus metallic sports catalytic converter

- Remus Racing stainless steel exhaust with correct A .C. S oval chrome tip
by Remus. (They supplied exhaust components to A.C.S' specifications).

- Remus resonator (Eliminates tedious cabin drone at cruising speeds).

- To further improve performance, this 318i has been re-chipped with a
Powerchip, allowing it to run on 98 RON. This was done on a rolling road, so
maximum gains were achieved. (Spec sheets from these runs are included).

- VDO gauges, the same as ACS specified; voltmeter, oil temperature &
oil pressure have been fitted into an O.E.M BMW radio blanking plate.
This unit now replaces the analogue clock and small storage shelf on the
dash. (Note: The back lighting in these gauges perfectly matches the
colour of the original, factory-fitted instruments).

This a rare opportunity to own a very low km E36, tastefully enhanced
with genuine BMW and A.C. Schnitzer parts. These period correct parts
perfectly blend 90s nostalgia and low mileage reliability, with the
aggressive stance and styling cues the BMW Approved Aachen-based
German tuner is known for.

The car feels exceptional on the road. Possibly many times better than
the original, standard 318i it once was.

Always garaged (and not used as a daily-driver), with immaculate Alpine
White 2 paintwork, it reflects the DTM & BTCC E36 Super Tourers of the
90s era. (Many prepared by A.C.S).

Some preventative actions have been adopted to help preserve the vehicle's
components:

- For instance, the bonnet has been left open after a drive, to stop the plastic
& rubber components 'cooking' and becoming brittle from the heat.

- At the same time, the leather seats and steering wheel have been wiped
down with distilled water, applied with a dedicated, soft micro-fibre cloth.

- After completely cooling down, the O.Z. alloy wheels have received the
same care as well, reducing brake dust build-up.

- Battery condition has been protected, with the use of a Bosch
C7 trickle charger.

Please note:
There is a very minor surface blemish on the bonnet, which did not warrant
the loss of original factory paint from a re-spray (It's hardly noticeable, after
a professional touch-up was done). This didn't stop it from winning Best of
Category E36-E46 & Best of Show at the BMWCCV Show & Shine in 2004.

- Manufactured in Munich, Germany, October 1991. Originally sold by Grand
Prix BMW, January 1992. Purchased from Bib Stillwell BMW by the current
owner in May 1993.

-Used regularly (but sparingly), it has only 86,000 kms on the clock.

-Complete service and parts records will be supplied.

-No known accident history or repairs.

- Car was delivered with optional electric sunroof (steel), air conditioning and
central locking with alarm.

- Correct BMW fog lights were added before delivery.

- Has the original BMW AM/FM radio and cassette player.

- Original door speakers are upgraded to more robust O.E.M BMW ones. (Nokia)

- Still has O.E.M. BMW analogue mobile phone antenna fitted. (Retained as a
non-functioning period correct feature).

- O.E.M dual map reading lights replaced the basic one fitted.

- Gaskets around rear window & around door handles replaced with
O.E.M ones. For future use, the weather-seal at top of windscreen comes
with the car. Gaskets around the Hagus mirrors were also replaced.

This is a tastefully curated enthusiast build, with many high-value upgrades
that have totally transformed the look, performance and handling of this car.

O.E.M. BMW parts, mostly sourced new from dealerships are:

- Thicker front and rear M-Tech stabilizer bars. (Found on 'is' models)

- BMW Motorsport lower front X brace. (Found on the E36 convertible)

- Clear front indicators, side indicators and rear tail lights. (All O.E.M.)

- O.E.M M3 side skirts (Colour- coded)

- M-Tech wider side rubbing strips with O.E.M "BMW Motorsport
International" emblems.

- O.E.M. M3 rear bumper/apron (Colour-coded with black lower diffuser).

- Rare BMW Sports seats (from E36 318is sedan). Trimmed in black nappa
leather, by specialist Gary Blackman, who upgraded new factory-fitted
velour E36 seats with leather for BMW Australia.

- M-Tech Type 2 leather sports steering wheel.

- Optional rear head restraints, centre front armrest and existing door
trim cards are also trimmed in black nappa leather.

- Centre console upgrade with non-smoker package (storage units).

- O.E.M. BMW Limited Slip Differential (with 45%) makes a significant
(and noticeable) mechanical contribution to the car.

- O.E.M Front seat bracket with fire extinguisher.

- O.E.M. Rechargeable glove box torch

Original A.C. Schnitzer components, mostly sourced new from BMW
dealers are:

- A.C.S Short Shift kit with alloy knob (25% less throw).

- A.C.S alloy strut brace (Specific application to fit around top of M40 engine).

- A.C.S Type 1 rear wing (Kevlar. Colour-coded. Correct part markings).

- A.C.S roof spoiler (With correct emblem: 1st type logo).

- A.C.S Type 1 front lip spoiler (With correct emblem: 1st type logo).

- A.C.S boot emblem (1st Type logo). Note: Small 'S3' boot emblem is a
high quality replica, because original item is very rare.

- A.C.S alloy pedal set and footrest.

- A.C.S alloy hand brake handle.

- A.C.S classic oval chrome exhaust tip. (By Remus, engraved with
1st type logo). New Old Stock ex U.S.A.

High-quality alternatives to BMW or A.C.S items have also been used as part
of the build, because many components were no longer available (NLA).

- Bilstein Sport shock absorber with Eibach Pro Kit springs (30mm lower).
Both these manufacturers supplied A.C.S.

- O.Z. Superturismo 17inch alloy wheels (with carbon fibre centre caps).
They made some of the A.C.S alloys.

- The chrome grille surrounds are encased with high-quality, satin black Kevlar
covers. (Produced by German Tuner Hamann Motorsport in the 1990s).

In addition some consumables have been recently been replaced:

- A new set of Bridgestone Potenza tyres are fitted: 225 x 45 front and 245 x 40 rear

- New, heavy duty Bosch battery has been recently fitted too.

- To further enhance the interior, genuine carbon fibre trim has been added around
the central panel (around gear knob)and the glove box trim panel (with A.C.S emblem).
Also, the internal surround inside the instrument panel is revised with carbon fibre.

This car has been serviced by top BMW dealerships & specialists and consistently
maintained and detailed to a very high standard by the present owner, using only
the best car care products: BMW's own car care products, AutoGlym, Sonax, Meguiars,
P21s wax, etc

Currently the car is on temporary loan to Melbourne BMW, as part of their heritage

(Please note: It can be made available immediately for a definite buyer).

Melbourne BMW clearly rate the car very highly, because it's proudly displayed in
their prestigious showroom on Kings Way, South Melbourne.

Performance BMW magazine also rated it, when it featured in their Reader's Cars
section. It was seen here by A.C. Schnitzer, who gave very positive feedback as well.

Prospective buyers can view the car at Melbourne BMW by
