The 40 valve 3.5 litre V8 rocked the motoring world when it was released with many people considering it to have one of the most extraordinary engine notes of any production car before or since. Producing some 280kw at a screaming 8500rpm, the F355 was light years on in performance, driveability and appeal over the outgoing 348. The Spider version brought that incredible engine just a bit closer to the occupants with the swift-acting retractable roof. Produced in considerably lower production numbers that the 360 and 430 that succeeded it, the F355 is fast becoming a coveted collector piece and finding a well cared for low-mileage car increasingly more difficult.
Presented in the most desirable colour combination of Rosso Corsa over Cuoio hide. Delivered new on the 15th of March 1996 to Point Piper, Sydney this F355 spider has covered just 48,900 kilometres from new. With a full service just completed including the cam belts, plus an overhaul of the roof mechanism including new elastics and cable adjustment, this stunning car is “on the key” and ready for some top-down fun. With a Larini exhaust system liberating even more of that simply unbeatable sound, convertibles in our opinion don’t come any more desirable.
