Adorned in the iconic Subaru World Rally Blue hue, this vehicle boasts Period Speed Line Wheels and meticulously crafted 22B Flared Arches, this Subaru radiates an undeniable charm that is bound to captivate all who encounter it.

Marking its triumphant third consecutive victory in the FIA World Rally Championship, Subaru commemorated the occasion by introducing the Impreza 22B. Premiering at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show under the badge "WRCar-STi," this creation was a direct response to the FIA's concern that rally cars were becoming increasingly reminiscent of Le Mans-style racers rather than maintaining a connection with showroom-ready vehicles accessible to the public.

In a limited production run, Subaru manufactured only a select number of 22B units, with 400 finding homes in Japan, 16 finding their way to the UK, and five landing in Australia. Regrettably, this automotive gem remained absent from the American market. Every 22B was meticulously coated in a distinctive metallic blue shade, harmoniously paired with golden BBS wheels.

The 22B STI stands as the unequivocal pinnacle of Subaru engineering. Functioning as a homologation special, it epitomizes the on-road version of the brand's most legendary rally cars. As a road-ready vehicle, it represents the ultimate embodiment of late 90s Impreza design in all its diverse forms.

These 400 limited units are rare treasures, embodying the fusion of rally car innovation with road functionality. Their exceptional value is evident, with recent sale prices surpassing $500,000 AUD and showing no signs of decline.

This specific car initially entered the world as a 1997 Subaru GC8 WRX STI Type R (2 Door Coupe). Over a span of years, it underwent an impeccable transformation into an accurate Period 22B Tribute Car, meticulously executed by a devoted Subaru enthusiast. It proudly bears the build number 013/400, signifying its unique place in the tribute lineup. Interestingly, the 13th genuine 22B ever built was believed to be a special unreleased model, hence why many tributes are often adorned with this number.

The exterior showcases exceptional attention to detail with the inclusion of the top-tier HT Autos full 22B Tribute Body Kit. This comprehensive kit encompasses the entire ensemble, from the arches and front and rear bumpers to the side skirts, bonnet vents, and fully adjustable rear spoiler. Complementing the exterior aesthetics are Period 18” Speed Line wheels, accentuated by the iconic 22B and Remade side STI badges. The addition of a genuine STI/22B Backbox completes the visual allure.

Inside, the meticulous craftsmanship continues. The interior receives a touch of authenticity with the addition of a brand new, genuine 22B Steering Wheel and gear knob, ensuring a tactile and controlled driving experience. The vehicle boasts a later model V7 STI Engine (2.0L), The timing covers have event been painted to emulate those on the 22B, paired with a 5-Speed DCCD Gearbox.
