This car is not just any New Zealand V8 touring car this is a
championship winning car with world renowned kiwi drive John McIntyre not only once but 3 times in a row from 2006 to 2008 under his own JMR (John McIntyre racing).
This car had had countless fastest laps at every single track in NZ with no expense spared, it’s reported that $100,000 was spent on the original engine just to make sure the car was running the best it could!
The engine is available and can be included for an extra fee if the new owner wishes to put it back to stock or back to when JMR had it. This car can be found at the top of any search engine if you type in New Zealand V8 championship, you will see Johns name pop up everywhere as he fought through every single race with another international star Angus Fogg.
The engine that has replaced the original is a scratch built dart block with brand new custom pistons and rings along with custom heads and valve springs. You will not find a better engine suited to this chassis, the engine was built by another Nz motorsport icon Tim Edgell at Edgell Performance in glenfield. This was a no expense spared build along with a full set up of the car too to compensate for the extra weight of the engine so not only does it go amazingly well but it handles like it’s on rails.
The stickers on the vehicle can be taken off if you wish, base colour underneath is pure white, the car consists of a chromoly roll cage, 8 and 3/4 diff with romac hubs, Performance Friction brakes back and front with two piece rotors, gearbox is a Jericho 4 speed (the strongest and more reliable gearbox as opposed to the Richmond gearbox).

We have an absolutely insane amount of parts that could seriously outlive the car even if driven hard at every round of your chosen race series for the next 5 years, that being said you not need to replace anything as these are one of the most reliable purpose built race cars out there.
Yes you could say this is a lot more money than the other cars but let’s not forget that this car is truly race ready, proven to succeed and ready to hit the track today!!
The management system in this car is still the same as the original running MSD so no ECUS to worry about or fuel injection just a simple carburettor.
I pulled this car from a museum a few years ago and basically brought it back to life as where it finished racing back in 2008 the car was left to be admired but, it was a dream of mine to own this car which I was lucky enough to get and not only has it been amazing it’s been an honour to own such an amazing piece of New Zealand’s motorsport history but now I have my sights on another project which needs my attention so this has to go.
