Group C Heritage Touring Mini Cooper S Austin

For those in the know this car needs no introduction. This is a genuine Group C car with impeccable history still with it's original period racing shell. The car was originally campaigned in Group C by well known QLD racer Jack Lacey. Jack had a very liberal interpretation of the rules and with a bit of creative FIA paperwork (included with the car) the mini competed with many unique modifications, aiding to it's success. This Genuine English 1964 Austin Cooper S 1275 was raced by Lacey with great success before being passed onto Ken Nelson who continued in the same guise on track as well as in Hill Climbs winning its class in the Australian Hillclimb Championship. The Austin Cooper S continued in Group C well passed the sunset clause for production date, receiving further modifications and is currently presented in its' 1982 Group C livery. Ken Nelson passed the mini to Brian Brookes who campaigned her is Appendix J in the late 80's and 90's with great success holding lap records that remained unbeaten until only a few years ago. I have owned the mini for around 12 years and campaigned it in various categories Australia wide. It has a current COD and will come with all log books dating right back to it's conception in Aus. I will also include a folder containing detailed historical paperwork and photos dating back to the 1970's as well as some spares pertinent to this car. The car has a fresh engine making exceptionally good HP and is only one meeting old. The mini has an exceptional race pedigree and its authenticity is never in doubt and is presented in good order but retains the type of crowd pleasing patina that is impossible to replicate, only adding to it's appeal.
