Audi Racecar , 3J Improved Production Motorsport Australia (Cams) logbook , certified Chromoly Cage (currently state legal , requires one additional vertical bar on driver’s A pillar area for National competition) largely standard engine ... If you were to fit a more exciting engine, this quattro could be an interesting and competitive addition to the rapidly expanding Replica Tourers field (do your own research to confirm) . The earlier Audi V8 engines (3.7 or 4.2) all the longitudinal V6’s including turbos and , I’m informed, with an adapter plate from the VR6 or V5 bora even the the RS3 turbo 5 cylinder beast will bolt directly to the 01A gearbox and also use the existing lightweight flywheel and racing heavy duty competition clutch from 015 motor sports in the US. Again it is important that you confirm the class legality of such engine transplants. There are two spare wheels included .
NOTE : There is also a complete (less dash) spare front wheel drive 80 series sedan with a 5 Cylinder 10 valve non turbo automatic transmission ... with very good straight panels interchangeable with the Quattro. This will be included if an offer close to the asking price is forthcoming. There is plenty of weight which could be removed from this car ...it’s still got electric windows and door trims and aircon!😂😂 It was a fun, reliable and safe car , if not particularly competitive but a good introduction to Motorsport with the potential for plenty of development . I was toying with the idea of converting this one back to a road car after I sold the E46 coupe last year. But with a shot back and encroaching oldness , I will never get around to further development or conversion to road car.
