1988 VAN DIEMEN FORMULA FORD $55,000 This car chassis number 1249 was the yellow prototype for the 1988 Van Diemen with Allan McNish involved in the development. It was then a works car for Van Diemen in 1988 with the Duckham’s oil yellow and blue livery. The car was raced by Derek Higgins and won the 1988 ESSO FF1600 and British RAC FF600 Championships. Third formula 3 built by Ron Tauranack and raced successfully by Jim Sullivan (the driver of the year to Europe 1964) From 65 to 70 owned by Promecon. Then purchase by Fred Opert of the USA, third owner Joe Bosworth raced as a formula Ford for 10 years in USA. Race logbook goes with car. Brought back to Australia and disassembled to rebuild.
