The AMC Javelin is an American front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-door hardtop automobile manufactured by American Motors Corporation (AMC) across two generations, 1968 through 1970 and 1971 through 1974 model years. The 1972 model year Javelins featured a new “egg crate” front grille design with a similar pattern repeated on the chrome overlay over the full-width taillights. The AMX version continued with the flush grille. A total of 15 exterior colours were offered with optional side stripes.

Chassis #4 was one of the first batch of five cars built. It was completed in early 1992. It was originally white with black signwriting as shown in the 1992 Pro-Sport calendar. Its first owner was Don Farthing and Peter Sneller of Zeus Racing. Don entered the car into LeMans in 1992, and was allocated #62. It was one of three Pro Sports entered but financing for the group could not be arranged and hence all Pro Sports were officially recorded as ‘did not arrive’. Zeus added some red squares
