Group 4 BDG Escort RS1800

This Classic Rally Car was built by Escort guru Ian Hill from a rust and crash free shell, with all fabrication done to Homologation papers. Car is presented ready to rally, having only done just two rallies. Those being 2022 Alpine and 2024 Ada River for total 578 stage km’s from new.

Engine:
New Jennings BDG 2 litre alloy block with nicasil bores, Jennings head studs, 11.9:1 CP forged pistons and rings, Carrillo H-beam rods fitted with Indy car bolts. 12 bolt steel crank with narrow journals STD/STD bearings. AP twin clutch plate assy, Steel flywheel. New cylinder head inc 4 bolt exhaust, new valves and springs. New cambox, New L1 inlet cam, New L1 exhaust cam. 48 mm Webber carbys, twin cable throttle linkages. Bosch alternator, Tilton starter.

Gearbox: ZF GENUINE close ratio 5 speed synchro type. Has all steel baulk rings, brass selectors and correct pivots.

Pedal Box: Horizontal AP cylinders and adjustable balance bar

Large tail shaft

Rear Axle: 5.1 ratio crown wheel and pinion, fully floating hubs. AP ventilated rear discs, AP calipers, Mintex pads. Separate AP calipers for hydraulic handbrake system. 4 link location plus panhard rod. 135 lbs rear springs, slipper rollers at front end. Proflex rear shocks (3 way adjustable). Brake lines all Aeroquip with stainless fittings.

Front Suspension: Gartrac billet group 4 stub axles - adjustable height platforms. Tapered wire front springs with roller bearing suspension tops. Bilstein shock inserts 260/60. Big bearing alloy hubs, AP Forest ventilated discs and AP Forest calipers. Mintex pads. Fully strengthened front cross member - lowered rack mounts. Steering rack 2.5 turns with steel coupling. Green metric tie rod ends. Twin cam sway bar.

Body Shell: Gartrac alloy flairs and front spoiler, 4 link boxes, panhard rod tower braced between both chassis rails. Light weight doors and window winder mechanism. Body has all the usual seam welding etc. Two flip-up roof vents, fibreglass bonnet, boot, front and rear bumpers. Heated windscreen, polycarbonate rear and quickly removeable side windows. LED headlights, CIBIE Super Oscar and Oscar driving lights on quick release alloy brackets. Alloy tail light protectors.

Interior: Racetech RT4100HR seats, Sabelt 6 point 3” belts. Sparco 13” steering wheel with OMP quick release hub. CAMS certificate of description for CDS cage all tig welded through to front strut towers. 19qt CoolSuit system, Stilo DG-10 Intercom, Monit G-200 with remote zero foot pedal on alloy co-drivers footrest. 3 kg Novec fire extinguisher system plumbed in cockpit and engine bay. 1.5 Kg Hand extinguisher. Remote GoPro and controls from Wired Remote (UK).

Boot: 55 Litre Ralloy aluminium fuel tank, Gomm dry sump tank with a 3 inch drain and inspection bung. 2 Facet fuel pumps on separate circuits with fuel filter and pressure gauge.
