‘The Dude’ is a twin-engine race car project based on two Mk1 Suzuki Swift GTIs, with a partial space-frame chassis and a fibreglass Audi TT body.
The original intention of the project was for a race driving school to be able to demonstrate the difference between a FWD, RWD and AWD car, in the one chassis, with a quick change-over between formats.
The chassis is essentially two Swift GTI engine bay/firewall/floor pans welded together (to allow the engines, steering and suspension components to bolt in), with a CAMs-spec space frame/roll cage tying the structure together.
What’s included:
- a complete chassis, including roll cage
- a full fibreglass Audi TT body, including doors, glass, spoilers, splitter etc. Cost over $10,000 new.
I had intended to get the car going as a fun hill climb type car - a sub-700kg 4x4 vehicle with over 200hp is easily achievable.
All of the hard work in sourcing the parts and designing the chassis is done. Looking for a new owner who is after something unique and quick that is simple to work on and fun!
Selling because I have become more interested in motorcycle racing and don’t have time to finish the project.
