Chassis number AA711, the first Birrana, was built in Sydney by Tony Alcock trading as ‘MAs du Closs Engineering’ prior to the establishment of Birrana Racing Cars Pty Ltd with Malcolm Ramsay in 1972. Bought new by Jack Brabham Garages, Surbiton, Surrey, UK for Gary Brabham to run in BBC Grandstand FF2000 series. Car was sold at end of 1984 and shipped to North America where it contested the very popular North American FF2000 series for a couple of years before slipping into obscurity.
