The Elfin Streamliner chassis number #7 was ordered by Peter Manton of Monaro motors Melbourne in September 1960 (known as the Monaro MG). 2011 Megane RS 265. Bought from auction for wrecking (WOVR), then discovered the car was mechanically fine. Even the A/C works, which is something this car is notorious for. My father (Bill Sherwood, racing under the name Bill Tatham) built the original in the late 1960's and raced it up until the mid 1970's. He wanted to beat the local hero's - Moffat, Johnson, Geoghegan, etc, so fitted it with a 302 Windsor mid-mounted. It was indeed very fast in a straight line but no so good around the corners!
