In addition to the engineers and mechanics, there are also team managers, who are responsible for coordinating all of the different aspects of the racing operation. They work with the sponsors, the media, and other teams to make sure that everything runs smoothly.
Of course, drivers are essential and often the face of the team. They are the ones who actually get behind the wheel and compete on race day. Drivers must be skilled in both the mental and physical aspects of racing. They need to be able to control their emotions, stay focused and concentrate for long periods of time. They also need to have strong reflexes and be physically fit to handle the demands of racing.
Teams will often advertise for drivers who fit their specific needs. Some teams may be looking for young up-and-coming drivers, while others may want experienced drivers who can provide leadership and guidance to the younger members of the team.
